Hey Tom!! Glad to have you back.. We've all gotten older, fatter and lost hair but still have the fire. No pressure to post or be present here, just nice to see familiar faces in familiar places.

I retired in April 2022 and moved to Portugal. I'm in the U.S. through Christmas visiting family.

Decided to dust off the misticriver domain and fire it up. Not long after shuttering the site whenever that was back in 2011ish I lost the hard drive with the backed up DB from the original site.

Anyhoo... we've got a couple of you here now. Enjoy!

Congrats on making it to retirement!

I moved away from DAPs to laptop playback several years ago, as I did most of my listening at my desk. I used JRiver media centre for FLAC playback (sticking with the 'river' theme ). Although I've kinda come full circle and nowadays I mostly stream stuff from my phone to Bluetooth headphones (using the aptX Adaptive codec). Not strictly audiophile, but ultra convenient and I still enjoy the music, which is ultimately what it's all about

I still have a box of H1xx bits somewhere, I should dig it out...

I seem to recall some of it came from you jeff.
I think I have 2-3 working players plus a bunch of accessories (remote, silicone and leather cases, cables etc.) and spare parts (drives, shells, boards, components).
I should go through it properly when I get time...

WOO-HOOOOOOO! We're back! I've since retired from the police department and have a nice boring office job. I still have my 2 H120 players and a remote, but have succumbed to the ease of using my iPhone for music.

These days, my tech addiction is photography. I have around 25 cameras dating back to the 1950s, but mainly shoot digital.

I'll hafta get a family pic and add it here...

                      Hey team!
I think I was previously lordmattman or mattman or mattcalf but I couldn't resist a nice clean username. I hope everyone is well!

I still have a rockboxed H340 somewhere, and throw 'iriver' into Marketplace/eBay searches fairly regularly to see if any gems pop up. However, I've also moved away from usings DAPs. I mostly stream music and have a fair collection of records. Similar to BBD, photography has a fair bit of my attention - mainly film although I am waiting on a Fujifilm XE2 to arrive in the post at the moment.

Greetings and salutations, thanks for building.
One happen to find a travelbag with a very clean, almost new condition iriver, 20gig with cradle and cables for $15. I had no idea what it was, had not seen one till today. It was a good purchase. Anyhoo. Was looking to see if anyone had tried hacking or the likes to pair up with linux.
