  • Trouble with volume limit with H340 with Rockbox

Hi, friends. What a pleasant surprise to find an active forum on the Iriver players. I have a little issue and I wonder if someone can kindly help me. I have two Iriver players, an H10 and an H340. I have Rockbox installed in both of them, but the strange thing about it is that the sound power is way stronger in the H10 than in the H340. Them I found that in the H10, I can put the volme limit until +5db, but in the H340, it only reaches until 0db. The Rockbox version is the same, 3.15, so I don't understand the reason. Maybe the output is more powerful in the H10 and Rockbox detects it, but if anyone knows any oter reason and can kindly help me, i'd be very grateful.

Sorry for my poor english, I'm from Barcelona!

Kind regards and thanks in advance,

    Welcome!

have you tried with different headphones to see if that makes any difference? I also found an interesting thread here:

discussing output for the iriver Hxxx series of players. Not sure it will help your situation, but it's good info nontheless.

Hi, no, it's not the headphones, I have different headphones and I have the same trouble. The thing is that the same version of Rockbox installed in two different Iriver players, in the H10 allows me to put the volume limit until +5db, in the H340 only until 0db (and it stops there, there are no more options upon the 0), and I have also read in forums that it should allow until +12. Maybe is that Rockbox allows more or less volume limit depending on the player is installed in, but I find it strange.

Your thread is interesting anyway, so thanks a lot!
