Into Camera's?

Are you into camera's at all? Full Frame, Mirrorless, Action, VLOG, etc...

Maaaaaaaybe a bit too much. I started taking my photography "seriously" around 2009 and bought a Nikon D200 ("Betty" ~ don't judge) at the suggestion of Douglas Bain, an OG of MR. About 20,000 crappy shots and a few keepers later, I have a couple of dozen cameras - 35mm, 120, point-n-shoot digital, a D780, a Leica Q2, and my youngest: a Nikon Zf. I enjoy taking pics of the grandkids and rural/small town landscapes, mostly.

Hi Jeff. It's been a while!

I have a Sony A9 that I use for sports and wildlife and a Sony A7R3 that I use for landscapes, portraits, and concert and theater photography. I also have a Sony A6000 that I use occasionally as a third body for sports or as a lightweight walkaround camera. I have a variety of lens, including the Tamron 17-28, Tamron 28-75, Tamron 70-180, Sony 55 f/1.8 and Sony 200-600.

The Sony A1 is probably the ideal camera for me, because it can do all of the things in a single body that I currently use two different bodies for. That said, I've been eagerly awaiting the A9 III announcement for a while. I was hoping that it would have something akin to the A1 focusing system with a 36ish megapixel sensor and come in a price point somewhere closer to $4500. If it had, then I probably would have pre-ordered one immediately. I had mixed feelings when I saw that it's actually a 24.6 megapixel sensor but with a global shutter and priced at $6,000. On one hand, I would really have liked an increase in resolution for wildlife photos, where I often have to crop heavily and to a lesser extent for soccer photos, where I occasionally have to crop in a bit. But on the other hand, the global shutter is a huge step forward.

I do hope to upgrade to either the A1 or A9 III at some point probably sooner rather than later. Right now, I'm leaning towards a used A1.

The new Sony A9 III looks utterly fantastic. I've not been into DSLR type cameras for over a decade now so can't comment too much. The 'Global Shutter' looks amazing.

Anyhoo, I use a Sony EV-1, Insta360 X2 and just picked up..... DJI Osmo Pocket 3!! Truly excited to get my mitts on it.
